Requesting Your EPP Authorisation Code

epp code

When transferring a top-level domain to another hosting provider, you will need to request an authorisation code known as an EPP key. The EPP key is a password of sorts which you will be prompted for once your new hosting provider has sent a transfer request.

You can request the EPP key using the following steps:

1. Log in to the Client Area.

2. Click on Domains, followed by My Domains.

3. Select the domain that you wish to update on the My Domains page.

4. Under the Manage menu on the left-hand side, select Get EPP Code.

5. Depending on the type of domain you have registered, the code will either be displayed on the next page or it will be sent to you via e-mail.

Note:
The ZA Central Registry does not make use of EPP keys. This means that you do not require one to transfer a .za or .cities domain.
