The following steps will assist you in setting up an e-mail account on a Samsung Galaxy Note 3:
1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon and then select Email.
2. Enter your e-mail address and password.
Note: If an e-mail account has been created already, do the following instead:
- Tap MORE.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Add account.
- Enter your e-mail address and password.
- Tap Manual setup.
3. You will be prompted to select the type of account you are using: Select POP3.
4. You will now be asked for the Incoming server settings:
- User Name: this must be the full e-mail address (e.g.: mail@example.com)
- Password: the password for this e-mail account.
- POP3 Server: mail.yourdomain (e.g.: mail.example.com)
- Security Type: None
- Port: 110
- Delete email from server: Never
- Tap Next to continue
The phone will verify your incoming settings.
5. You will now be asked for the Outgoing server settings:
- SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain (e.g.: mail.example.com)
- Security Type: None
- Port: 587
- Require sign-in: this option must be ticked.
- User name: this must be the full e-mail address (e.g.: mail@example.com).
- Password: the password for this e-mail account.
- Tap Next to continue.
The phone will verify your outgoing settings.
6. On the Account options screen, you will be prompted to configure the following:
- Sync schedule
- Peak schedule
- Sync Email
- Notify me when email arrives
Tap Next.
7. On the Set up email page, you will be asked for the following:
- Give this account a name: this is an on-screen description of the account.
- Your name: this is the name that will appear next to your e-mail address when you send mail.
