The following steps will assist you in adding an e-mail account to your Sony Xperia U handset:
1. Press the Menu icon (located at the bottom of the screen) and select Email.
2. On the Email page, tap Other email account. You will be prompted to enter your e-mail address and password.
Tap Next to continue.
3. On the What type of account is this? page, select POP3.
4. On the Incoming server settings page, enter the following:
- Username: Enter your entire e-mail address using lowercase characters (e.g.: mail@example.com).
- Password: Enter the password for this account.
- POP3 server: mail.yourdomain (e.g.: mail.example.com)
- Port: 110
- Security type: None
- Delete email from server: Never
5. On the Outgoing server settings page, enter the following:
- SMTP server: mail.yourdomain (e.g.: mail.example.com)
- Port: 587
- Security type: None
- Require sign-in: this must be selected.
- Username: Enter your entire e-mail address using lowercase characters (e.g.: mail@example.com).
- Password: Enter the password for this account.
6. On the Account options page you will be prompted to configure the following:
- Inbox Checking frequency: this determines how often your phone will check for new messages.
- Send email from this account be default: this setting configures your phone to automatically send new messages from this account.
- Notify my when email arrives: when enabled, you will be alerted when a new message is downloaded.
7. You will be prompted for two more settings on the Set up email page:
- Give this account a name (optional): this is a description of the account (useful if you have multiple accounts on your phone).
- Your name (displayed on outgoing messages): this is the name that recipients will see next to your e-mail address.
